migration
Media: Found materials, glass
Size: 40" x 40"
Migration was completed in 2013 at Salem Art Works, a sculpture park in Salem, NY. This piece houses 23 glass eggs that I made in the glass shop, each representing specific people who I lived with that summer. Each egg is engraved, and the aesthetic of each egg is particular to whom it represents. Symbolic for home, I related the act of all these artists coming to New York for the summer similar to the migratory patterns of birds. While here we made a home for ourselves, and had a rebirth of creativity and art making.
